
Dr Subhasis Basu
Dr Basu is a fellowship-trained Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist with an interest in Sports Imaging holding a substantive post as a lead role in MSK imaging at Wrightington Hospital (WWL Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust), in Lancashire. Dr Basu completed his medical training at St. Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospital School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of London. His postgraduate training in clinical radiology took place in Manchester and the North West of England, followed by a dedicated sports imaging fellowship at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.
Dr Basu’s practice involves reviewing and reporting X-rays, CT scans and MRI scans as well as performing diagnostic ultrasound scans and image-guided therapeutic injections. He is academic minded having delivered multiple national and international presentations, published and contributed in peer-reviewed scientific journals as primary and secondary authors of a number of articles including book chapters and a co-editor of a book. He is the Director of the Wrightington MSK Clinical Fellowship programme and holds an honorary senior lecturer position at EdgeHill University. He also holds multiple clinical advisories to several organisations within the radiology industry.
