Announcing Dr. Subhasis Basu as our New Faculty Lead at JCA Seminars

We are pleased to announce Dr. Subhasis Basu as the new MSK Faculty Lead at JCA Seminars. Dr. Basu brings a wealth of expertise, having established himself as a leading Consultant in Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Sports Medicine Radiology. He currently serves as the Clinical Lead for MSK Imaging at Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr. Basu is a fellowship-trained expert in his field, having completed his medical training at St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospital School of Medicine and Dentistry. He then pursued a dedicated sports imaging fellowship at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. His extensive expertise spans reviewing and reporting X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans and performing diagnostic ultrasound scans. He also specialised in image-guided therapeutic injections, addressing joint and soft tissue disorders for both professional and non-professional athletes. He has experience in injecting with steroids, hyaluronic acids and orthobiologics.
With a robust clinical practice that focuses on orthopaedics, sports medicine, and rheumatology, Dr. Basu’s collaborative approach ensures the highest quality care for patients. His active participation in multidisciplinary clinical meetings reflects his commitment to integrated healthcare. Furthermore, Dr. Basu’s dedication to research and education is evident, with regular contributions to peer-reviewed scientific journals and a strong presence as a speaker at national and international conferences.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Basu serves as the Director of the MSK Imaging Fellowship at Wrightington Hospital and holds a Senior Honorary Lecturer position at Edgehill University. We are incredibly excited to have such a distinguished leader joining our educational faculty in a lead role for MSK imaging.
Dr. Basu shared his thoughts on his appointment as MSK Faculty Lead at JCA Seminars:
“It is really special to have been appointed the Faculty Lead for MSK imaging with JCA Seminars. Personally having a strong interest in education and its delivery pertinent to MSK imaging using multiple imaging modalities, it felt like the perfect opportunity to join hands with JCA Seminars, who have been operating within the education space for a number of years already, delivering multiple CPD events around imaging.
I have found the new operational team at JCA Seminars really easy to work with and being able to design, shape and deliver MSK courses felt too good an opportunity to pass up. It was clear that we all want to deliver the best education content that is relevant and up to date backed up by current practices and literature evidence. I look forward to directing MSK Imaging courses with JCA Seminars for 2025 and beyond, in novel, fun and innovative ways to ensure delegates at our MSK courses feel they have enhanced their own learning and understanding around key topics within the MSK space. With multiple methods of delivery, my favourites always tend to be the face-to-face events where delegates and faculty can intermingle, learning off each other and building those professional relationships and networks that stay strong long after attending events with JCA Seminars.”
