It was a real pleasure to host our recent Cardiac CT Level 1/2 Course at The Spencer Hotel in Dublin. Led by our Clinical Lead, Dr Azhar Khokhar and Dr Ermanno Capuano, this intensive five-day programme was delivered in partnership with Circle Cardiovascular Imaging. The course followed BSCI and SCCT guidelines for Level 2 accreditation, offering an in-depth, rewarding learning experience for all participants.

Across the week, we welcomed delegates from Ireland, Norway, Malaysia, and Singapore for a comprehensive learning experience that combined focused lectures with hands-on training and the interpretation of over 150 carefully selected cases. Early in the course, we covered key foundation topics including coronary anatomy and the role of CT in both acute and chronic coronary syndromes, content that contributes to the Level 1 component and prepares delegates to confidently approach case interpretation.

Over the past 15 years, Dr Azhar Khokhar has curated a case archive representing a wide spectrum of cardiac pathologies. For this course, he selected from a library of over 300 cases to ensure we examined the full range; the good, the bad, and the challenging. “Our goal is always to equip delegates with the confidence and practical insight they need to interpret real-world cases in their own clinical settings” said Dr Khokar.

A key highlight of the course was our partnership with Circle Cardiovascular Imaging, whose powerful CVI software platform added significant depth to the case review sessions. We were fortunate to have Anne Hui Sze Kwong on site, offering direct support and demonstrations of the software’s capabilities. Behind the scenes, Educate and Circle continue to collaborate closely to ensure seamless case integration and a smooth learning experience.

For the second half of the course, Dr Ermanno Capuano took over, expertly guiding the delegates through the final 90 cases, bringing them to the 150-case mark required for Level 2 accreditation. Delegates will now go on to complete an additional 25 cases within their own institutions, under the supervision of a Level 2 or Level 3 accredited consultant, to finalise their BSCI or SCCT application.

It was a fantastic week filled with discussion, engagement, and collaboration. As always, it was a privilege to host such a motivated group of clinicians.

We’re now looking ahead to our next Cardiac CT Level 1/2 Course, which will take place from 17–21 November 2025 at the Holiday Inn in Basildon, Essex. Delegates will be joined by expert faculty from several local hospitals, each bringing their own insights and experience to the programme.

If you’re looking to build your skills and confidence in Cardiac CT, we’d be delighted to welcome you there.
